The word tajweed comes from the word Jawad - Jawad, which means the opposite of a bad thing, or a weak thing. Tajweed is the recitation of the letters of the Qur’an in the best manner and in the best way, giving each letter its due right, and pronouncing each letter from the correct exit.
Jawad al-Qur’an means reciting the Qur’an in the best manner, and al-Majd means one of the best things.
The intonation is light and comes on easily. Some people make more effort, and overdo it in reciting, which is not part of the recitation. While others recite the Qur'an in a laid-back style, so it is also not to the point of becoming lazy. Just like the religion of our Islam, Tajweed is the middle path, and it should be done in a balanced way.
